Welcome to the Official Website of The Bach Ensemble

The Bach Ensemble of Naples Florida was founded in 2001. It has been a source for the highest level of choral singing, concentrating on works of Bach and his contemporaries. Concerts are performed in area churches including, Moorings Presbyterian, Trinity by the Cove, Grace Lutheran and in museums including Marco Art Center and Von Liebig.

The Bach Ensemble is diligently searching for a new artistic director. As soon as one has been hired, an announcement will be made on the home page of this web site. We will then provide a concert schedule for the Season 2015 and 2016. We greatly appreciate your support in the past and look forward to your enjoying our concerts this season.

All performances are accompanied by orchestral musicians and reflect the composers’ intentions. The Bach Ensemble offers audiences authentic and scholarly interpretations of the greatest works in choral repertoire.

Generally each season includes at least three concert programs with each program being performed two or three times.

The Bach Ensemble has performed Handel’s “Messiah”, Bach’s “Mass in B Minor” and “St John Passion” along with so many other Baroque masterpieces

Committed to education, The Bach Ensemble has held an annual Bach Festival for almost a decade in which young musicians ages six to eighteen prepare and perform a composition by Bach or his contemporaries.  They are adjudicated with written comments from South West Florida’s professional musicians. Eight are selected to receive scholarships for future studies and to perform as soloists in Bach Ensemble concerts.

College students studying voice are invited to audition for the Intern Program.  Up to eight per season are given the opportunity to rehearse and perform with the Bach Ensemble with each student receiving a stipend.

Our 2015-2016 season includes Schubert’s “Mass in G”, Pergolesi’s “Stabat Mater”, Handel’s Messiah”, Brahms’ “Liebeslieder Waltzes” and Poulenc’s “Gloria.”
