All performances are accompanied by orchestral musicians
and reflect the composers’ intentions.
The Bach Ensemble offers audiences authentic and scholarly interpretations of
the greatest works in choral repertoire.
Generally each season includes at least three concert
programs with each program being performed two or three times.
The Bach Ensemble has performed Handel’s “Messiah”, Bach’s “Mass in B Minor” and “St John Passion” along with so many other
Committed to education, The Bach Ensemble has held an
annual Bach Festival for almost a decade in which young musicians ages six to
eighteen prepare and perform a composition by Bach or his contemporaries. They are adjudicated with written comments
from South West Florida’s
professional musicians. Eight are selected to receive scholarships for future
studies and to perform as soloists in Bach Ensemble concerts.
College students studying voice are invited to audition
for the Intern Program. Up to eight per
season are given the opportunity to rehearse and perform with the Bach Ensemble
with each student receiving a stipend.
