Auditions for The Bach Ensemble

At the current time, The Bach Ensemble has a special need for Tenors. Openings may be available in other sections as well. Please call 239-732-1055 or email auditions@thebachensemble.org for more information and to set up an audition appointment.

The volunteer chorus of The Bach Ensemble includes both trained, professional vocalists and others with talent and enthusiasm who are willing to work hard to learn the music and improve their vocal skills. Membership entails regular attendance at weekly rehearsals and participation in all dress rehearsals and major performances of the season. Singers also are expected to study their scores and practice on their own time using provided rehearsal CD's.

Prospective Ensemble Members are encouraged to attend one or more rehearsals prior to auditioning, to learn about the commitment involved in participating.

Auditions are private, with a small committee attending, and the Director accompanying you on piano. For your audition, please prepare one vocal solo piece to demonstrate your singing. You will also be asked to do some simple sight-singing, and some vocal exercises to gauge tonal memory and to determine your range. Results of the audition will be mailed to you after discussion at the next Board Meeting of The Bach Ensemble.

Auditions for Soloists are by invitation from the Director.
